The Lahore High Court has ordered the closure of all markets and restaurants in the city at 10 pm due to smog and has also ordered the closure of schools opening on Fridays.
On Wednesday, a hearing was held in Justice Shahid Karim Farooq's court on the petition filed regarding smog remediation.
During the hearing, the court directed that markets and restaurants should be closed at 11 pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
On this occasion, the court was told that the earlier orders issued by the court regarding the remedy of smog. Due to their implementation, the situation has improved.
Directing the education department to strictly implement the orders, the court said that the schools which opened on Friday should be sealed.
The court asked the concerned authorities to monitor the implementation of the instructions.
