Balighur Rehman, the governor of Pakistan's Punjab province, has issued an order to remove Chief Minister Pervez Elahi from his post.
Governor Punjab issued the order to de-notify Parvez Elahi through his Twitter account.
According to this order, the Governor directed the Chief Minister to take a vote of confidence on December 19.
According to the text of the order, the chief minister was asked to take a vote of confidence on December 21 at 4 pm. However, despite the passage of 48 hours, he did not take the vote of confidence. Therefore, the Cabinet is abolished under Article 30 of the Constitution.
The order further states that former Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi should continue his work till the election of a new Chief Minister. A copy of this order has also been sent to Chief Secretary Punjab directing immediate steps to implement this order.
