Islamabad's security is tight, temporary check posts have been established at 25 places




In view of the security situation, Islamabad Police has established temporary check posts at 25 different places.

On Tuesday, Islamabad Police said in a statement on Twitter that the Red Zone entrances will be monitored with Safe City cameras.

The statement further said that the passengers of the metro service will also be video recorded.

"Keep Pakistani and foreign citizen identity documents with you."

Islamabad Police has said that legal action will be taken against unspecified number plates and unregistered vehicles.

Security in the city was on high alert following a suicide blast in Sector I-14 of Islamabad on Friday.

After the suicide bombing, the US Embassy in Islamabad issued instructions to its diplomatic staff to avoid Marriott hotels and non-essential travel as unknown persons could target US citizens.

"There is a red alert in Islamabad due to security concerns, following which all diplomatic personnel are being directed to avoid non-essential and private travel during the holidays in Islamabad."

The Saudi Embassy has also appealed to the Saudi citizens to exercise caution after the security high alert in Islamabad.

The embassy instructed the resident Saudi citizens and tourists to "go out only under extreme necessity". All necessary precautions should be taken while going out.
