The head of the Foreigners Services Office in the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department in the United Arab Emirates, Mini Al Raisi, has said that under the new law on civil marriage during 2021, foreigners residing in the state and those coming on visit visas will have to fulfill 4 conditions for the process of civil marriage. It has to be done'.
According to Emirates Al-Youm, Mini Al-Raisi says that "the first condition is that the minimum age of the bride and groom is 18 years and it will be confirmed through an official document issued by the relevant country".
Mani Al-Raisi says that both the bridegroom and the bride should announce the approval of the marriage in clear words in front of the judge. It will also be satisfied that there is no legal obstacle in the way of approval of either of the parties in connection with the marriage.
The third condition is that both the bride and groom have signatures in the marriage declaration.
Besides, if there is any further restriction in this regard from the head of the judicial department, it will also be necessary to implement it.
Mini Al Raisi said that the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department has launched a civil marriage service to complete the marriage process in 5 international languages: Arabic, English, Russian, Chinese and Spanish. Application for civil marriage proceedings can be made on the website of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department.
