Citizens are worried about noses in Islamabad, what does the police say?

After the failure of negotiations between the government of Pakistan and the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan and the termination of the cease-fire agreement, the federal capital Islamabad has once again been blocked in places.

Initially, these tunnels were installed at the entrances of the city, along the main highways and around the red zone, but now it seems that the entire city is covered with tunnels.

If you are coming from Faizabad and you want to go to Pak Secretariat or Parliament House, your first port of call will be at Faizabad. Three routes to the red zone are open, including Sarina Chowk, Ayub Chowk and Margalla Road.

Whichever way you choose, three to four gates are waiting for you.

Islamabad Police Spokesman Jawad Taqi told Urdu News that there are only 25 noses on which 320 policemen are on duty in shifts. The canals you see at places are not canals but halting points. These have been installed by the Eagle Squad.

He said that 'these tunnels are installed at the places where there is information about any alleged danger. Therefore, these points are set up for screening all vehicles and motorcycles before the main gate or before entering any important area.

He said that in future the number of these noses will be reduced and the coverage of Safe City cameras will be widened and the digital monitoring of the city will be improved.

Citizens who travel on these routes on a daily basis say that as a responsible citizen, apparently no one should have a problem with these noses but should treat the officials on duty with courtesy.

However, he said, "But when the policemen make the safety fences on the road more narrow with vinegar, where even a single vehicle passes, long queues of vehicles are formed behind." In such a case, this blockade may lead to a major accident instead of dealing with the potential threat of terrorism.

In this regard, Shafiq Ahmed, who went to the Pakistan Secretariat, said that 'the bridges on the main highway are understandable, but the bridges installed just a few steps before the link road and any traffic signal are incomprehensible.'

Shafiq Ahmed's tip is a few steps before the big signal in front of Sarina Chowk on Srinagar Highway, between 50 steps between the signal and Sarina Chowk and then closing the square and taking the uturn from Khayaban Suhrawardy along with the noses installed. was towards

Not only this, if you want to enter the red zone from Ayub Chowk i.e. Marriott Hotel, 50 steps before Ayub Chowk, a few steps before the signal while coming from the supermarket side, and then at the corner of Marriott Hotel and highway. Two more noses have to be passed in the half kilometer journey to Dastur.

This is talking about the side of the red zone. The situation is no different in other areas of the city.

A citizen Muhammad Anwar said that "I got stuck in a traffic jam between two or three noses a few days ago." Children were also with them. Meanwhile, I saw that the vehicles of a VIP squad were also stuck in the same rush. In such a situation, I felt very insecure. The police should find an alternative solution.

The security of all government buildings within the red zone has been tightened so much that such security measures were not taken even during the regime of Pervez Musharraf and PPP.

Cards are usually issued for each section to enter the Parliament House. Apart from the employees of both the secretariats of the Parliament ie the Senate and the National Assembly Secretariat, the employees of all the government institutions come to the Parliament on a daily basis.

Similarly, media persons are also present in Parliament House all the time. Special passes are issued on the occasion of every meeting and even if passes are not available, entry is allowed on presentation of office cards.

Since the security personnel know more or less all the journalists by their faces, only the cards of those whose faces are not known to them are checked. It is placed at the entrance.

Apart from this list, if a journalist goes to the parliament, he is not allowed to enter.

In this regard, Parliamentary Reporters Association spokesperson Malik Saeed Awan told Urdu News that 'We have been informed by the Parliament administration that some alleged terrorists tried to enter the Parliament on fake media cards and were arrested. Is. Therefore, extreme measures have been taken for the sake of security.

He said that no journalist can be prevented from performing his duties, so we have informed our community that they will always carry their national identity card and office card with them. In the same way, to go to the Parliament, one has to hang the card around the neck and one has to introduce oneself while cooperating fully with the staff.

The security of other institutions on the Constitution Highway has also been tightened, while the iron gates installed at D Chowk and Nadra Chowk have been closed and the entry of traffic has been blocked.
