The appeal of the woman who joined ISIS, 'I want to go back to America'

A girl who escaped from her home in the US state of Alabama and joined ISIS in Syria has appealed to return to America.

According to the Associated Press news agency, in an interview, Alabama resident Huda Mushana said that in 2014, Internet trafficking groups lured her to join ISIS and she regrets what she did.

Huda Mushana, 28, is being held by US-allied Kurdish forces in Camp Roj, Syria.

Huda Mushana said that she was too young and innocent when she joined ISIS and hopes that the US government will see her actions in the same light.

"If I have to spend time in jail, I will not resist it."

He said that after returning to America, he will raise his voice against ISIS.

Huda Mushana was 20 years old when she left her home in America to join ISIS.

Meanwhile, she is married to an ISIS fighter and has a school-age child with him.

Huda Mushana has many times taken the stand that she had become a part of ISIS out of ignorance, but four years ago, she was seen strongly supporting the terrorist group on social media.

At that time, the ISIS organization was at its peak and declared an Islamic caliphate, occupying one-third of Syria and Iraq.

In 2015, a post from Huda Mushana's Twitter account invited Americans to join ISIS and incited attacks in the United States.

However, he maintained in the interview that his phone had been taken and that ISIS supporters had posted from his Twitter account.

Huda Mushana's parents immigrated to America from Yemen. Huda was born in the American state of New Jersey.

In 2014, Huda Mushana told her parents that she was going on a fun trip with the school, but she booked a flight to Turkey and then went to Syria.

Under former US President Barack Obama, Huda Mushana's US citizenship was revoked, saying her birth father was a Yemeni diplomat.

Huda Muthna's lawyers disagreed with this move, arguing that the father's diplomatic status had expired at the time of Huda Muthna's birth.

According to a recent report by the international organization Human Rights Watch, 65,000 alleged ISIS members and their families are imprisoned in camps and prisons of the US-allied Kurdish group in Syria.

Among them are Syrian citizens and foreigners, while 39 of them are American citizens who have returned.
