The local court of Islamabad has accepted the request of exemption from the presence of former Prime Minister Imran Khan in the criminal case of Toshah Khana reference today.
On Tuesday, in the District and Sessions Courts Islamabad, the lawyers of former Prime Minister Imran Khan filed an application for exemption from attendance on medical grounds.
Additional Sessions Judge Zafar Iqbal delivered the reserved verdict and said that the Election Commission has not yet provided certified copies to the PTI lawyers. The next date of indictment will be fixed after the Election Commission provides certified copies to the PTI lawyers.
During the hearing, the judge remarked that 'if the application for exemption from such attendance continues to be filed, how will the indictment be filed?'
Election Commission's lawyer objected that why Imran Khan has not come to the court yet?
Imran Khan's lawyer Ali Bukhari requested the court that Imran Khan's appearance in the court of Judge Rukhshanda Shaheen on February 15, give a later date.
The judge inquired whether Imran Khan has to appear in the court of Judge Rukhsinda Shaheen on February 15.
The judge said, "Give me a date when Imran Khan will come to court?"
Lawyer Ali Bukhari said that if Imran Khan's health permits, he will come. They are following the instructions of the doctors.
Additional Sessions Judge Zafar Iqbal gave a safe decision and accepted Imran Khan's request for exemption from attendance today.
